For runners

Is Race Calendar free?

Yes. It is free for runners and free for organisers. There is nothing to pay to browse, to subscribe to the newsletter or to list a race.

Can I enter a race on Race Calendar?

No. Race Calendar is a directory, not a ticketing site. Each race page links to the official entry page, and that is where you enter and pay.

How up to date are the listings?

Nothing goes live until it has been reviewed, and I update listings when organisers or runners tell me about a change. Dates, prices and entry limits can change at short notice, so always check the official entry page before you travel or pay.

What do the status labels mean?

Open: entries are open. Closing soon: entries are open but close within 7 days. Sold out: the organiser has reached its entry limit. Postponed: the race has been moved and the new date may not be confirmed yet. Cancelled: the race is not going ahead. Closed: entries have closed but the race has not happened yet. Past: the race has already taken place, and the page stays as an archive.

Why isn't my race (or my favourite race) here?

It may not have been submitted yet, or it may still be waiting for review. Organisers can add a race in a couple of minutes using the Add a race form. If you know of a race that is missing, tell the organiser or send me the details through the contact form.

I spotted a mistake. How do I report it?

Use the Report an error link on the race page, or the contact form with the topic set to Correction. Please include what is wrong and, if you can, a link to the official page.

How does the newsletter work?

It is a weekly email sent on Thursdays. You pick the counties you want, and it lists races in those counties. It uses double opt-in: you confirm your address by clicking a link in a first email before anything else is sent. Every email has an unsubscribe link.

Are parkruns included?

Yes, but they are hidden from the main calendar by default so that they do not crowd out one-off races. Turn on the Include parkrun toggle to see them, or visit the parkrun page for venues by county.

Does Race Calendar track me?

It uses Plausible Analytics, which counts visits without cookies and without building a profile of you. There are no advertising trackers. The cookies page has the detail.

For organisers

How do I list my race?

Fill in the Add a race form. You will need the race name, date, location, distances and a link to your official entry page. A race photo and a short description help, but are optional.

How long until my race appears?

Every submission is read by a person before it goes live. It is usually live within 2 days. If you have not heard anything after that, get in touch through the contact form.

How do I edit or remove my listing?

There are no organiser accounts yet. To change or remove a listing, email me or use the contact form with the topic set to Organiser, and include the link to your race page. I will update it as soon as I can.

Is it really free to list?

Yes. There is no charge to list a race and no paid placement. Race Calendar does not sell entries.

Can I list a club or a running shop?

Yes. Clubs and shops each have their own submission form and are also free. They are reviewed in the same way as races.
